DoD Delights by Accepting Social Networking

US Defense Department catches up with the world and gives the OK for social networking.
Last year the Marines banned the use of social-networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter from its network but the use of social networking tools has proved to be too valuable to deny - the official
DoD site now makes heavy use of Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and YouTube.
You can now catch up the military view with such podcasts like "
The View from the Chair" from
the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on YouTube.

The US DoD is obviously a big mover with a huge budget - it will be interesting to watch what effect it's approval if not involvement in social networking will produce.
