YouTube have been fiddling with their landing page for some time - I have to say that my awareness of the subtleties of the YouTube interface is such that I hardly notice the changes -  but I am sure I am the exception.  This article produced back in January provided a much more insightful view of the changes than I could contemplate and even included annotated screen grabs for your enlightenment.

 

The more recent changes from YouTube are finely described in this updated article – the fine user interface tuning is reported to be driven by user feedback so let  us hope we can sleep secure knowing that video downloaders the world over will not be frustrated.
